Step 2: Advice on design, specification and cost
What it involves
Our in-house designers make some design mock-ups for your site, we plan the contents of each page of your site in detail and we calculate the exact cost for building the site.
We start with a meeting with you to do the following:
- Discuss the design concepts with our designers. We look at the factors influencing design and show you examples.
- Use our 'SitePlanner' software to plan every page of your new site, such as where text and images should go and where email forms, databases, content management and other features will fit in. We could give you an electronic version of SitePlanner to enable you to fine-tune this 'blueprint' of your website in your own office.
- Once you have decided on the exact design of your site, we will give you the exact price for building the site as described in step 3 (Building the website).
Why it works
You need to be satisfied with the design and the blueprint before you commit to the cost of building your website. We need to plan the new site together before we can give you a quote for building it. Once we have agreed the design details, we build the site quickly and efficiently.
How much it costs
As a guide, we charge about £1,500 for this advice for a medium-sized website (10 to 30 pages). For advice for larger websites we will give a price on request.
From experience, we know you will quickly earn this money back as a good site plan means that we can complete the next steps much more quickly and at a lower cost. That means that the total cost for creating the site comes down.
