What it involves
We make your website accessible to search engines.
Many search engines, such as Google, create their listings automatically using software that 'crawls' or 'spiders' the web. The software reads web pages and follows links from page to page, choosing and storing what it finds and automatically sorting it.
We set up each page of your site so that the search engine 'crawlers' can do the following:
- Follow links from page to page. If your website has been set up to prevent the crawlers from moving through a website, we repair that.
- Read the content. If your website has been set up to prevent the crawlers from 'reading' the content, we create a 'machine-readable' version of your pages.
- Indexing the content of each page. 'Crawlers' look for several things when they index your web pages. We have a list of policies that we apply to each page of your site as part of our restructuring process, although we can only do this if we host your site.
